No Hat, No Ride
Rode THE MONSTER today. XC and everything. I mean proper jumps, even if teeny-weeny.
Palisade, tyres, hedge, ditch and rails, plain old ditch, wall, in and OUT of the water, trakhener, rolltop, steps, pheasant feeder...
Woo hoo!
Anyway, we went back to the wall and Trakhener.
Snort, snort. Go! Canter canter canter and LEAP. Head down, poke nose and try to fuck off. No, come back. Collected canter canter canter, turn left and two strides to the Trakhener and leap and JINK right and oh no here I go over the nose.
Turn in the air like a falling cat and land on my naked arm which gets a nice dose of gravel rash. Head also hits ground.
My riding partner tells me to look at my hat...
It's hit the ground and stopped while my head has carried on moving.
Safely back home I am able to remove the outer shell completely leaving me with two halves...
No apparent damage to the inner, but would you ride with something that looks like it should be worn by CHiPs?
